Kettling

I don’t think that police realize what great analogy they’ve got for their tactic of “kettling.” Kettling (which is also referred to as containment or corralling) is a tactic used by police during demonstrations (you know, like the Occupy movement) in which the police move in on a group of people, trapping them in an area with the use of barricades. But think about it… you’ve got water boiling in a pot: it’s there, it’s hot, it’s moving, but it’s mostly quiet. Put it in a kettle and what happens? It gets LOUD. That’s what is happening here. NYPD*, go ahead and kettle all you want, you are just making us LOUDER. And don’t forget: YOU are the 99%, and the whole world is watching.

*I would also like to clarify that I have the utmost respect for most of the men and women of the police force. I understand that these are hard working Americans who are simply trying to make a living; I just hope that they can also see that most of US are peaceful and hard working Americans who are simply working to establish an equal and just Democracy.
